Short Bio Sketch:

With a background in Psychology, I have acted as the lead evaluator in major UK computer-supported learning projects

I received the degrees of Ph.D in Information Science (2009) and MS in Information Systems (2002) from Drexel University iSchool, MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire (1992) and BA in Psychology from the University of Warwick (UK).

I served as co-chair of the HICSS minitrack in Social and Distributed Cognition in Knowledge Management Systems for two years, in 2007 and 2008.

I have an extensive background in systems development and technology deployment.

My research interests include human-computer interaction; virtual communities, IT-enabled learning and knowledge management. My current focus is on student engagement in online learning environments: understanding the role played by peer-learning behaviors in achieving student engagement.
